What Actually is HCG:
An acronym for Human Chorionic Gonadotropin, HCG is a hormone produced by the placenta in pregnant women that controls the metabolic functions in the body throughout the pregnancy, and was discovered in 1954 by the late British physician, Dr. A.T.W Simeons.

What is the HCG Diet:

The HCG Diet Protocol described in Dr. Simeons’ manuscript, “Pounds and Inches: A New Approach to Obesity”, outlines the diet plan for the program. One important thing to know, though, is that the HCG diet can only be effective for weight loss if Dr. Simeons’ HCG Diet Protocol is strictly followed. Taking just the HCG without the diet will not cause you to lose any weight, because it only takes effect when you reduce the amount of food you intake so that the mobilized fat will be converted into fuel for your body’s energy needs, otherwise, if you do not follow the diet you will not lose any weight at all.

The HCG hormone suppresses hunger and converts fat into usable energy, and speeds up the metabolism process, causing significantly quick and easy weight loss.
Most HCG diet plans restrict users to around 500 calories each day of mostly organic and unprocessed foods along with the HCG injections or drops under the tongue . Following the exact plan for 30-45 days, your body’s metabolism will be fixed, and you will lose several pounds each day.

The HCG diet is completely safe for both men and women, as long as their BMI value is not lower than 20.
